Unlock the secrets of the Banana Museum

Banana Museum

In Tazarcote you can find the Banana Museum, the only one in Europe dedicated to this fruit. Located in a traditional Canarian house, it was inaugurated in 2004, wanting to make the visitors aware of all the stages of the Canarian banana farming process: its origin, dietary qualities, varieties, care, pests that affect it, transportation used from the Canary Islands to the rest of the world and many more peculiarities. The young ones can visit its different floors brimming with information and containing panels with images and videos. Venture into the Archaeological Park of Belmaco

Archaeological Park of Belmaco

The Archaeological Park of Belmaco, located southeast of La Palma, has been declared a Historic-Artistic Monument and is a must-see visit. It is the first archaeological site discovered in the Canary Islands where the first petroglyphs of the Islands were found. The park counts with ten natural caves and an Interpretation Center, where children can learn about the daily life of the aboriginal people and discover all the secrets and the history of this area. The tour begins in the center’s exhibition hall which has models, graphic documents, and multimedia content. Next, you will go outside and head towards the caves following a path (not accessible to wheelchairs and baby carriages). In the caves, you will be able to see archaeological remains and engravings, along with information panels that will help you decipher the stone inscriptions.
