The Enchanted Forest of Anaga

Enchanted Forest, the Fairytale Tunnel, the Trail of the Senses… The path that takes you to the Pico del Inglés lookout point in Anaga Rural Park has a host of names, all alluding to its sheer beauty and mystical feel.

This particular spot is breathtaking, with impressive walls of laurel trees. The play of light and shade and damp atmosphere brings out all the colours beautifully, making it an incredible spot to snap some photos.

Photography tip: It’s a good idea to tilt your mobile upwards (or even set your zoom to 0.5 for a wide angle) to show the vastness of the forest.

Los Lavaderos Park

Los Lavaderos Park is in the municipality of El Sauzal. It’s a favourite spot for couples who want to immortalise that magical moment before their wedding.

It was originally a communal washing space, but today it’s a gorgeous recreational park with covered and open-air paths, made for relaxing strolls. The spectacular gardens boast local and exotic plants along with both natural and artificial waterfalls – dreamy!

Photography tip: Don’t be shy – you can try a range of locations here. You could snap the waterfalls with stunning views in the background, or the beautiful stone walls. Wherever you choose, it’s ideal for shots with your loved one.

The Arico coast

If you’re looking for something a bit different for your photos, Arico has a charm all of its own. The light and colours will draw you in from the moment you arrive.

It’s the perfect spot for a day out, with golden sand beaches and crystal clear water. And the entire coastline is adorned with striking arid rock formations. The perfect setting for your photos. And that’s a promise.

Photography tip: Wear an outfit in colours that contrast with the rocks to get the highest-impact photo.

Guayarmina Princess infinity pool

Platinum guests staying at the Guayarmina Princess hotel have access to their own slice of paradise: the terrace with an infinity pool. The sunsets there are out of this world.

As the sun sets, the sky transforms into a sea of pinks and oranges, blending with the lush green of the palm trees to create an unrivalled backdrop for your photos. Your followers will be green with envy!

Photography tip: Play with the lighting of the sunset. You could enhance the colour of the sky or the palm trees, or just snap a simple photo to flaunt your exclusive location.

El Médano

Love water sports? El Médano beach is the perfect spot to get some shots and keep those memories alive forever. It’s home to several windsurfing and kitesurfing world championships.

Photography tip: If you’d prefer to take your pics on dry land, the grey sand on the beach and Montaña Roja (Red Mountain) make for an awe-inspiring colour scheme.

Las Ventanas de Garachico

Windows of Garachico

A hidden gem few tourists know about. The so-called ‘Ventanas de Garachico’ (Windows of Garachico) in the picturesque town of Garachico are a great place to take some unique photos.

The sculpture, entitled Tensei Tenmoku and created by Japanese artist Kan Yasuda, is located right at the end of the port. The contrast it creates against the immense blue of the Atlantic Ocean is spectacular. How about a trip there?

Photography tip: Go bold and play with the perspectives and shadows the sculpture casts at different times of day.

The Drago Milenario tree, in Icod de los Vinos

The Drago Milenario has become a true Tenerife icon.

It’s located in one of the island’s most charming villages: Icod de Los Vinos. Thought to be more than 3,000 years old, it’s the oldest and largest of its species. Which is why it’s no surprise it’s been declared a National Monument. Don’t miss your chance to take a photo of this monumental dragon tree as a souvenir.

Photography tip: Your best bet is to take a low-angle shot from just below, to show the size of the dragon tree in all its glory.

El Faro de Punta Teno (Punta Teno Lighthouse)

Los Gigantes cliffs

Punta Teno Lighthouse is an absolute must for your trip. Especially if you’re in search of Tenerife’s best sunsets. Located in a secluded spot on the island, it’s one of the oldest lighthouses still functioning today.

Access to private cars is restricted between 9:00 and 20:00 in summer. So, we recommend taking the 369 bus there or walking via one of several paths that take you to the area.

Photography tip: You’ll get the best photos at sunset. Please note it’s a pretty remote area, so you should always go with someone else and make sure your phone’s fully charged.

Cliffs of the Giants

Ravines of Mount Teide

The Cliffs of the Giants are one of the natural highlights of Tenerife. Don’t miss them when you come to the island. Towering over 600 metres high, the cliffs were given the nickname ‘the wall of hell’ by the Guanches (indigenous people of Tenerife) because to them, they symbolised the end of the world.

Photography tip: You can see them from any of the lookout points in Santiago del Teide municipality. But without a doubt, you’ll get the most impressive photos from the water – whether you’re in a kayak or boat.

Princess Inspire Tenerife

You don’t have to travel to Greece to feel like you’re at one of its temples. You can do it from the south of Tenerife. The architecture of the recently renovated Princess Inspire Tenerife evokes an ancient Greek construction.

Boasting imposing ivory-coloured columns and a Baroque staircase, it’s the perfect setting for a photo. Just choose the time of day, and get your outfit to match. Experience magical moments when the façade is illuminated by millions of lights during the nightly shows.

Photography tip: Get ready to smile. That’s all you need. The hotel will add the magic.

Las Cañadas del Teide (Ravines of Mount Teide)

This list wouldn’t be complete without giving a mention to Tenerife’s ultimate photo spot: the Ravines of Mount Teide. The landscape looks like something from Mars, and an endless number of films and series have been shot there, including The Planet of the Apes, Clash of the Titans and Doctor Who.
Photography tip: Get there early to avoid the crowds and walk around in peace. You could even go at night, and see one of the world’s most spectacularly starry skies.
