True happiness – Spend the Happiness Day on the Happy Islands!

What exactly is the International Day of Happiness? It’s of course a day to be especially happy!

The International Day of Happiness was launched by the United Nation’s General Assembly in 2013. Since then, it has been celebrated every year on March 20th.

Already in 1776 the American Declaration of Independence declared the pursuit of happiness a fundamental human right. However it was a small kingdom in the Himalayas that served as inspiration for the Happiness Day: Bhutan considers the gross national happiness to be more relevant than the gross domestic product.

The aim of the Happiness Day is to remind us that sustainability, happiness, well-being and the reduction of poverty are just as important as pure economic growth.

For this reason Princess Hotels & Resorts suggests visiting the Happy Islands. The 7 Canary Islands are a piece of heaven on earth. In each of the hotels in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and La Palma you will find peace and relaxation.
