At Princess Hotels Punta Cana, we carry out various social initiatives within the community so that we can improve our local area, including delivering supplies to the elderly or providing school materials for children.

We have done all of this, and much more, as part of our Princess And You 360 Social Responsibility Project. Many of our actions are supported by Pack For A Purpose.

In this case, we visited Pablo Martinez Primary School to deliver their annual school supplies.

The supplies we gave to the children were gifts that were generously donated by our incredible guests and staff.

Delivery of School Supplies

On 2 November, we travelled from the hotels to Otra Banda, the town where the school is located.

As the school was in session and we visited during school hours, the visit was not as long as on previous occasions, but the quality of the time is always more important than the quantity.

In addition to the school supplies (books, notebooks, backpacks, pens, pencils, etc.) we gave to the children, we also wanted to brighten their day with some sweets. After a few words from the principal of the school, we presented the materials. We were then able to spend time with around 30 children between the ages of 4 and 10 years old, who represented their classmates and were extremely excited to see their new supplies.

The school management will of course be the responsible party when it comes to distributing the supplies according to the students’ needs and ages, as well as storing and distributing those that serve the common good.

At Princess Hotels we act as a bridge between the community, our guests and our staff.

That’s why we’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that we collect any donations our guests would like to leave for the community throughout the year.

We generally work on three major charitable campaigns each year:

• Delivery of school supplies
• Tree of hope – toys for children (at Christmas)
• Help for the elderly at the residential home in Higuey

It doesn’t matter what time of year you visit us, if you would like to contribute, just drop off your donations at customer services and we will keep them for the next suitable campaign. Thank you very much for your generosity!
