Princess Hotels Punta Cana deliver toys to the Nazareth Educational Centre in Punta Cana

At Princess Hotels Punta Cana, we are constantly concerned about our community, and therefore, we promote social activities in order to improve our environment.

Our corporate social responsibility programme, Princess and You 360, encompasses all our actions, some of which are supported by Pack For a Purpose.

On February 8th, we visited the Nazareth Educational Centre to deliver the toys that were collected in our Tree of Hope campaign last Christmas.

A day full of happiness

At 9 o’clock in the morning, a bus came to pick up our staff, and all the toys, refreshments and biscuits, from the different hotels in Punta Cana:

• Princess Family Club Bávaro
• Punta Cana Princess
• Tropical Deluxe Princess
• Caribe Deluxe Princess

We set off for the school full of enthusiasm, because as on previous occasions, we know that the smiles of the children were waiting for us.

We went to the school, which is about 20 minutes away from the hotels, where in an organised public school they were teaching their pupils, all in uniform and happy.

As we were during school hours, we were not able to stay long, as the last thing we wanted was to interrupt their lessons, however we must thank the centre’s management and teachers, who allowed some of the children to come out to greet us and to deliver some of the gifts personally, which allowed us to enjoy their smiles live.

We were asked to please leave the biscuits and refreshments in the centre so that they could give them out later and not interrupt the subsequent lunches, which we understood, although we missed being able to share that moment as on other occasions. However, the gratitude and affection we saw from both teachers and students filled our hearts.

The centre also agreed to distribute the donated school supplies properly, and to make sure that the toys that we were unable to distribute in person because of the classes, will reach the children most in need.

Playing is healthy, and sport is essential

In addition to school supplies and toys, it is important to note that sports equipment, different types of balls, sports clothing, etc. were handed out.

This is not the first time that we have received gifts of sports equipment for children, and we would like to stress how important these gifts are, as sport and exercise benefit them in many aspects of their development.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that throughout the year, Princess Hotels in Punta Cana, carry out different types of campaigns to help our community, normally divided into 3 categories:

• Delivery of toys
• Donation of school supplies
• And the contribution of material for the old people’s home.

No matter what time of the year you come to visit us, we are always happy to collect donations, and they will be saved until the next campaign.

As always, we would like to say a big thank you for the generosity of our customers and staff, who every year go out of their way to bring toys and gifts that we are able to give to the children in our community, who greatly appreciate the gesture, as for some of them these are the only toys they will be able to receive.
