What does the TraveLife Gold certification consist of?

TraveLife is a sustainability system created in 2007 by the British Travel Association (ABTA) with the aim of promoting responsible practices in the tourism sector.
TraveLife promotes tourism that respects the natural and cultural environment of each region. The certification stands out for its inclusive nature, and covers everything from large tour operators to small independent companies.
TraveLife offer two sustainability models:
- One for agencies and tour operators.
- The other for accommodation.
The two models operate jointly and share the same values and fundamental principles.
Step by step: how Princess Hotels achieved TraveLife Gold certification

- In the first phase, Princess joined TraveLife as a means of demonstrating its commitment to improving sustainability by adopting practices and projects that were in line with TraveLife standards.
- In the second, or ‘Partners’ phase, Princess produced a Sustainability Report that reflected the initiatives it had implemented in an effort to meet its responsibility objectives.
- The third phase marked the end of Princess Hotels’ commitment to TraveLife, and consisted of a Sustainability Audit that validated compliance with the required standards, thereby granting renewal of the certificate.
