Tetra Pak Challenge: Platinum Yucatan Princess in Collaboration with AMEXME

At Platinum Yucatan Princess we are proud to be part of initiatives that promote environmental awareness and action. One of our most outstanding collaborations is with the Tetra Pak Programme, an initiative that transforms recycling into specific actions for social wellbeing.

The programme is carried out on a quarterly basis and focuses on collecting and recycling Tetra Pak containers and plastic lids and turning them into desks and other useful materials for those most in need.

This action, along with many others, forms part of our Princess and You 360 social programme, which aims to make a positive impact on our community.

Partnership with AMEXME

Platinum Yucatan Princess has a partnership with the Mexican Association of Women Entrepreneurs (AMEXME), an affiliate of Les Femmes Chefs D’Enterprises Mondiales.

AMEXME is a non-profit, non-political organisation that brings together women entrepreneurs from business of all sizes. Its mission is to develop and represent women entrepreneurs in Mexico and promote their participation in economic, social and political spheres with a high level of social commitment.

This meaningful collaboration came about through an invitation from the Riviera Maya Hotel Association, an organisation that promotes sustainable development in the hospitality industry. As partners of this organisation, we at Platinum Yucatan Princess saw a perfect opportunity to contribute to positive change in both our community and the environment.

How did the Tetra Pak event go?

The Tetra Pak Programme has been implemented with great success at our facilities.

Tetra Pak containers are collected from what is generated in our Food and Beverage service with the additional involvement of our staff, who also contribute containers and plastic lids from their homes.

The average quarterly donation has been around 10 kilos of Tetra Pak containers and 25 kilos of plastic lids.

These donations are given to AMEXME, who are responsible for transforming the recycled materials into desks and other essential products that are then donated to schools and communities in need.

Impact and future of the programme

The impact of this programme has been significant, not only in terms of recycling, but also with regard to the education and environmental awareness of our staff and guests.

At Platinum Yucatan Princess, we are committed to both ongoing active participation in the Tetra Pak Programme and to strengthening our collaboration with AMEXME, thus contributing to a more sustainable and supportive future.

We continue to be involved in initiatives that not only benefit our community but also inspire others to join this movement for positive change.
