III Princess 5k Run in Princess Hotels Riviera Maya – Running for Education 2024

On the 2nd of November last Princess Hotels Riviera Maya successfully celebrated the third edition of its Princess 5K Run.
This event is held in one of Mexico’s most idyllic destinations and has gained popularity over the years by bringing together guests, collaborators and locals in an atmosphere of sport and fun with the aim of promoting health and coexistence.
As part of our Princess and You 360 sustainability programme, our Grand Riviera and Grand Sunset Princess hotels organised the Third Princess 5k Run with the objective of raising funds to support the local Contando con un Amigo school.
The Princess Hotels 5K race has already consolidated itself as an eagerly-awaited tradition in the Riviera Maya, and represents the hotel chain’s commitment to the social and educational well-being of its community by helping generate a positive impact on the local community.
Running for Education

The programme of activities of the third Princess 5K race began with the little ones displaying their usual energy and desire for fun.
The first event was a children’s race in which girls and boys participated by running one kilometre, over which they would encounter a series of specially designed obstacles.
This was a fun and exciting way for the children to practise sport, and Liseth Poot Hernández was awarded first prize.
The adult event of the third edition of the Princess 5K Run in Riviera Maya was next on the programme.
On this occasion the event attracted 157 registered entries, who took part with the aim of supporting education in the community.
The winner in the men’s category was Diego Vázquez Alonzo, while the women’s category winner was Rosa Cruz Urbina.
A Cheque for Education

At the end of the race a commemorative cheque was presented as a symbol of the amount of money raised thanks to the support of all participants.
This contribution has a positive effect on education and highlights the role of sport as an engine for change.
With the support of the 157 people who registered for the 3rd Princess 5k-1k Run, we were able to benefit 83 children and young people.
As part of the event attendees were able to enjoy a variety of stands where they could purchase products such as thermos flasks, home-made sauces, dolls and other assorted items.
In addition, as a homage to Mexican culture and in celebration of tradition, a ‘Day of the Dead’ dance performance was presented. Sporting traditional costumes and colourful make-up, the dancers captured the essence of the holiday, and offered those present a unique cultural experience that added a special touch to the day.
Thanks to all Participants

A big thank-you goes out to all participants who supported this initiative: together we have shown that we can make a significant difference to those who need it most.
Coming together for this 5K run is a simple endeavour that has the power to improve education in our community. You have helped give these children a chance for a better future.
Are you ready to run the next race with us? We love to hear from you!
