Today we would like to introduce you to Guadalupe Velazquez Conde, a member of the Bars department, she is one of the waitresses at the Grand Sunset Princess Hotel.

She sets up the tables before you arrive, and takes and serves orders with her signature kindness, always ready to help you with whatever you need.

Can you give a short description of yourself?

Hello, my name is Guadalupe Velazquez Conde. I am passionate about my job, I love being here at Princess, I feel very happy because I have had the opportunity during these 12 years to meet people from all over the world.

Can you tell us where you are from and how you ended up working at Princess?

I am originally from the city of Puebla. I came to the company by accident, on a day off. One of my brothers was working here and he told me about the hotel, he said it was a good place to work. I was hesitant at first, but when I made the decision to leave my previous job and approach Princess, I was motivated and driven by my daughters.

What is your job at the Grand Riviera Princess Hotel?

I am a waitress in the Bars department.

What do you value most in your work?

I really appreciate the opportunity we are given here, especially in the department I am in, to meet the people, to interact with the guests, both national and international, to take care of the children, to be able to look after the people and share many happy moments with them.

In your day-to-day work, how do you contribute to the social and environmental responsibility plan of the hotels?

In the hotel we have sustainability policies and one of them is about making a responsible use of water, which I agree with and that is what I try to do on a daily basis. Water must be taken care of. Also avoid the consumption of environmentally harmful products such as plastic.

Which is your favourite place in the Riviera Maya? And in the hotel?

One of my favourite places in the Riviera Maya is Bacalar, it is a very peaceful place to relax.

The hotel in general is beautiful, you have everything here to have a great time, but one of my favourite places is the Sunset Lobby, because that’s where I met many of the people who now come back with us.

What would be your tip for a first-time visitor? A must!

When you visit us at the hotel, you can’t miss a wonderful sunrise on the beach and a delicious dinner in Chill Out.
