Ecomoda 2024 Competition in Princess Hotels Riviera Maya
ECOMODA 2024, the creative, sustainable annual competition designed to raise awareness about environmental care through art and fashion, was held on Thursday the 5th of September last.
Princess Hotels Riviera Maya is committed to raising awareness and showing what can be achieved through the combination of correct separation of the solid waste generated at the resort and a healthy dose of creativity and teamwork.
This action is part of our Princess and You 360 programme, a reflection of the hotel chain’s commitment to caring for our environment.
What is Ecomoda?
In this year’s competition a selection of teams participated in two exciting categories:
- The first focused on the creation of Catrinas, and contestants showed their talents by designing costumes inspired by this iconic Mexican figure.
- The second category consisted of costumes made using only recycled materials, and highlighted the importance of recycling and reuse in protecting the environment.
ECOMODA combines art, culture and sustainability, and encourages participants to use their ingenuity for the benefit of the planet.
At the ECOMODA 2024 awards ceremony special recognition was given to the talent and commitment shown by the teams participating in this year’s edition.
The winners in the Catrinas category were awarded for their creativity and originality in the representation of this emblematic figure.
In the category of clothing made with recycled materials the focus was placed on innovation, efficient use of recyclable resources, and the environmental awareness message the contestants conveyed.
All teams distinguished themselves in their efforts to combine fashion and sustainability and were rewarded not only for their design, but also for their contribution to environmental protection.
Caring for the environment is caring for our home
The correct separation of solid waste and the reuse and recycling of materials are key actions in terms of mitigating environmental impact and preserving our natural resources.
By implementing these habits in our daily lives we not only reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, but also reduce the extraction of new raw materials and save energy.
Every effort counts: by properly separating our waste and giving materials a second life we are contributing to a more sustainable, healthier future for generations to come.
