The Tree of Illusion 2021 gifting delivery in the Dominican Republic

The Tree of Illusion is a beautiful project that we celebrate every Christmas at Princess Hotels in the Dominican Republic, through which we collect the toys donated by our guests and employees for the children of our community.

The Tree of Illusion is part of the Princess and you 360 programme, a social and ecological actions programme that has been carried out throughout the years in the following hotels:

• Princess Family Club Bávaro
• Punta Cana Princess -Only Adults
• Caribe Deluxe Princess 
• Tropical Deluxe Princess

Worth mentioning is also Pack for a Purpose, a platform that helps us to give voice to social projects like The Tree of Illusion, encouraging and motivating guests from their platforms to make room in their suitcases to bring their gifts to our charity projects.

Cortecito Public School Donation

This year, the toys collected through The Tree of Illusion 2021 at Princess Hotels in the Dominican Republic were donated to Cortecito Public School for more than 220 children from 6 to 12 years old.

Due to the existing bio-sanitary measures, this year the toy delivery was made in February instead of in January. The day chosen for the toy delivery was February 14th, as it is the day of Love and Friendship. At 10:30 am representatives of Princess Family Club Bávaro, Grand Bavaro Princess, Punta Cana Princess, Caribe Deluxe Princess y Tropical Deluxe Princess hotels went to the study center to make the gift delivery, as well as to bring refreshments and candy for the children. Due to health reasons, everything was carried out in a discreet way, but it was wonderful to see the little ones’ faces as they looked with surprise and awe to our animation staff dressed as their favorite superheroes, although in some cases it had to be through the distance because they were in their classrooms.

The most touching moment from the meeting came from the 5 children who showed us how well they are progressing in their education by making a reading demonstration. It was beautiful seeing these 5 protagonists choosing their favorite texts, whether they were patriotic poems or children’s stories, and reading a fragment of them. Despite their shyness and the stage fright of reading to the adults, the little ones felt the need of representing all their classmates and of showing the product of their effort.

We cannot stop thanking all our guests for their generosity, for this miracle of helping the children of our community would not be possible without them. We would also like to ask you to continue bringing your donations, for over the year we celebrate different campaigns and there will always be one in which we can deliver your gifts.

Our next campaigns this 2022 will be helping the Higüey Nursing Home, school supplies for children, and toys for children. If you wish to collaborate, you can bring school supplies for children, sport supplies for children, and toys for children. And for the nursing home you can donate: first aid equipment and basic necessities for the elderly such as cotton wool, disinfecting alcohol, bandages, adult nappies, board games, adult clothing, eyeglasses, personal hygiene items, etc. 

We are convinced that thanks to everyone’s collaboration this year’s campaigns will once again be a success.
