Discover Where to Go Paragliding in the Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are one of Europe’s most spectacular destinations for paragliding.
Their unique combination of stable weather, constant trade winds, and volcanic terrain that drops straight into the sea makes the archipelago the ideal spot to experience the thrill of free flight all year round—even in winter.
From the air, each island unveils a different face: in Fuerteventura, you’ll witness the contrast between golden dunes and turquoise waters; in Tenerife and La Palma, flights take you over cliffs, mountains, and forests with landings by the sea; and in Gran Canaria, you can glide above the iconic Maspalomas dunes or admire the capital city from above.
Whether you’re a beginner or looking for a tandem experience with an instructor, you’ll find designated take-off areas, specialist schools, and routes for all skill levels. Paragliding in the Canary Islands is far more than just a sport: it’s a unique way to discover the islands’ landscapes from an entirely new perspective, with total freedom and safety.
Paragliding in La Palma
Paragliders find some of the best conditions for flying in La Palma. It’s one of the world’s favourite destinations for the sport. Nearly all year round, visibility is ideal and the wind conditions are favourable.
Thanks to the consistency of the trade winds and the excellent visibility, La Palma is one of the few places in Europe where you can paraglide in winter, covering up to 30 km in a single uninterrupted flight.
Paragliding in Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria offers thrilling experiences like paragliding flights that give you a bird’s eye view of its stunning beaches and landscapes. The trade winds brushing the round island are your greatest ally in enjoying this exhilarating activity—definitely not for the faint-hearted.
One of the best areas for a tandem flight with an instructor is in the northeast of the island, where you’ll get a unique aerial view of the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The flight usually lasts around 20 minutes, and you’ll be photographed and filmed during the experience so you can take home an unforgettable souvenir.
Another perfect setting for this activity is in the south of Gran Canaria. The most popular spot is above the spectacular Maspalomas dunes, near our twin hotels, Tabaiba Princess and Maspalomas Princess. The distinctive nature of this landscape makes it a fabulous place to land, often surprising sunbathers at Playa del Inglés.
Come and enjoy a one-of-a-kind adventure, where the sense of freedom is unmatched—an experience you’re bound to remember for the rest of your life.

Paragliding in Tenerife
Tenerife hides spectacular nooks and landscapes that are best appreciated from above. If you’re up for a scenic paragliding experience, you should know that the southern part of the island, Adeje, is a popular hotspot for outdoor flying enthusiasts.
One of the highlights of paragliding in this area is that you can land right on La Caleta beach. This route gives you sweeping views of the island’s southern coast, including its spectacular hotels and beaches—some of the most touristic spots on Tenerife. Among them, on Fañabé beach, are the Guayarmina Princess and Princess Inspire Tenerife hotels. If you’d prefer to take in the green scenery of northern Tenerife from above, you can take off from Los Realejos. Here, the launch point sits 765 metres above sea level, and during the flight, you’ll observe the island’s dramatic elevation drop all the way down to the coast, where the lovely city of Puerto de la Cruz awaits.
Another well-known paragliding site is the Güímar hillside, on the island’s eastern flank. This location has a recently refurbished launch ramp and preparation area to ensure that everyone keen to try this exciting and enjoyable activity can do so safely.
Paragliding in Fuerteventura
Have you ever imagined flying over volcanoes, endless golden sand dunes, or beaches with turquoise waters? These are just some of the breathtaking landscapes waiting for you in Fuerteventura—and you can take them all in from the sky.
The wind—especially the trade winds—is the island’s greatest ally and has earned Fuerteventura global renown for sports like windsurfing and kitesurfing. Now we invite you to try another exhilarating activity during your stay on the island, where wind is one of its standout features.
As you take to the skies in a paraglider, always with an instructor in charge of guiding the flight (whom you should pay close attention to), you’ll discover an entirely new perspective of the island. From above, the contrast is striking: you’ll see how the sand merges with the turquoise water, how volcanoes give way to endless beaches, and how towering mountains sweep down to meet the sea.
One of the great advantages of Fuerteventura is that you can paraglide in many parts of the island thanks to its abundance of cliffs and the frequent presence of favourable winds throughout the year.
