The Grand Sunset and Grand Riviera Princess hotels are more than just places to stay and relax… they are places where you can connect with nature and contribute to the well-being of the planet.

Thanks to our Princess and You 360 social responsibility programme we are able to participate in projects designed to make the world around us a better place.

On this occasion, in conjunction with our sustainability department, we organised the recent Ecotour for our guests to coincide with the dates around Earth Day.

This proved to be an enriching experience that combined learning about the local flora and fauna with the opportunity to contribute to reforestation by planting trees.

Exploring the local flora and fauna

The Ecotour began with a tour of the hotel’s lush gardens under the guidance of an ecology expert.

Guests had the opportunity to learn about the rich diversity of plants and animals that inhabit the area.

From majestic tropical trees to colourful birds, monkeys, coatis and deer, every corner offered something new to discover.

Our guide shared some fascinating information about the local ecosystems and how each element plays a crucial role in the natural balance.

Planting trees: A commitment to the future

The highlight of this wonderful tour was the opportunity for guests to plant a tree.

This symbolic act has a significant impact, as each tree planted helps combat climate change, improves air quality, and provides habitat for wildlife.

Participants received instructions on how to plant and care for the trees as well as information about the species they chose to plant.

The importance of planting trees

Planting trees is essential for the health of our planet:

• Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, helping to mitigate climate change.
• They also provide shade and reduce temperatures, reducing the need for air conditioning and thus energy consumption.
• In addition, trees create habitats for birds, insects and other animals, thereby contributing to biodiversity.
