Donation to the Casa de Asistencia Temporal of the National System for Integral Family Development (DIF) in Playa del Carmen

We’re proud to share with you that Grand Riviera Princess, Grand Sunset Princess and Princess Family Club Riviera will be continuing with the Dame una mano project in collaboration with Pack for a Purpose. These projects are part of 360 Princess and You, our Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

Future guests are invited to donate by bringing toys, supplies and other essentials in their luggage, which will be donated to local communities in need. 

The Three Wise Men visit the Casa de Asistencia Temporal (CAT)

This time it was the turn of the Casa de Asistencia Temporal (CAT), which belongs to the National System for Integral Family Development (DIF) in Playa del Carmen.

Since the activity took place during January 2022, we decided to surprise the children and send the Three Wise Men with all your donations. 

General manager Alberto Selas, joined by the entertainment manager and the executive chef, brought Melchior, Caspar and Balthasar to life, donning their distinctive costumes. Members of the sustainability team and other staff also joined the cause, bringing toys, school supplies, clothes, basic hygiene articles and, of course, the traditional rosca de reyes.

On arrival we were welcomed by the honorary president of the DIF, Rosita Escobedo Campos, and we took part in various activities, such as shooting hoops, during our visit, which helped the children get comfortable with us. Of course, we followed all the required health and sanitary protocols. We were also joined by our official mascot, La Coronita Princess, who played with the children and gave them lots of hugs. 

Unfortunately, owing to the health and sanitary measures, we weren’t able to join in the traditional breaking of the rosca with the children, which they did after we had left. However, judging by their faces, they were fascinated by the gifts, and the smile of a child is undoubtedly priceless.

At the end of the day, this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our guests. We would therefore like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who have donated through the Dame una mano and Pack for a Purpose programmes. We hope to inspire more travellers to make space in their suitcases and keep bringing along donations. 

In the same spirit as this donation, we hope that throughout the year we’ll have more opportunities to reach out to more communities and associations. We can never have too much help, and we’d be happy to deliver all your donations. Rest assured that they will go to those who need them most.
