A Decade of Success: 10th Anniversary of the Platinum Yucatan Princess Hotel
Last week the Platinum Yucatan Princess Hotel celebrated its tenth anniversary with a week of special activities dedicated to its employees.
The commemoration featured many moments of gratitude, creativity and growth that reflected the spirit of community that characterises the hotel.
This initiative, along with others we carry out in an effort to improve work-life balance, is part of our social responsibility programme, Princess And You 360.
Here is a rundown of what we did each day. Needless to say, ‘boredom’ was not part of the vocabulary.
Monday, 2nd of September: Anniversary Flavours
The week began with a very special gesture towards those who constitute the beating heart of the hotel.
Starting at 6am the employees were welcomed with a special menu in the employee dining room, a menu designed in their honour and in recognition of their daily dedication.
The hotel’s executive committee was enlisted to serve the meal in an effort to create a unique feeling of closeness and appreciation.
It was going to be a week full of positive energy and gratitude designed to highlight the value of shared food and togetherness.
Tuesday, 3rd of September: Entrepreneurship Fair
The hotel’s theatre was transformed into a dynamic space for creativity and entrepreneurship where employees were able to present their personal projects.
Featuring everything from handmade jewellery to fried foods, fresh fruit, sportswear, and paintings by a talented co-worker, the fair was a runaway success.
In addition, a series of winners of internal talent contests provided entertainment for the event, adding a touch of melody and enhancing the mood of the occasion.
The event ran from midday to 4 pm and provided a platform for the hotel’s entrepreneurs to showcase their talents. The response was impressive and almost everyone managed to sell their wares.
It was an afternoon of inspiration and mutual support in which the entrepreneurial and artistic spirit of the team was very much in evidence.
Wednesday, 4th of September: Presentation of Certificates to In-house Instructors
Wednesday was a day dedicated to recognition, with the presentation of certificates to in-house instructors and trainers at a ceremony held in the theatre.
These employees, who dedicate extra time and resources to training and guiding their colleagues, received a well-deserved tribute to their effort and commitment.
The event was also accompanied by a special lunch menu, putting the finishing touch to an afternoon of celebration and appreciation.
Thursday 5th of September: Competition and Coexistence Tournament
On Thursday, in an effort to encourage friendly competition and camaraderie among employees from different departments, an exciting tournament was held in which teams faced different challenges at various stations around the hotel.
The objective was to complete each challenge as quickly as possible and the animation team was eventually crowned the winner.
This activity not only promoted teamwork, but also camaraderie and fun.
Friday, 6th of September: Anniversary Party
And to end the week on a high note a full-on party was organised on Friday in honour of all the staff.
The evening included a special dinner and the presentation of awards to those employees who had completed 5 and 10 years’ service at the hotel.
One of the most emotional moments was the cutting of a cake commemorating 10 years of operations, followed by a toast with all those in attendance.
Repeat guests were also present and, as a special guest, the former director of the hotel, Mr. Rafal Telichowski, received an award presented by the current director, Mr. Andrew Cummings, as a gesture of gratitude and respect for his legacy.
Anniversary week was not only an opportunity to celebrate the hotel’s achievements but also to strengthen the sense of community among its employees and highlight the importance of each individual in the collective success.
Here’s to many more years of shared success at Platinum Yucatan Princess!
