5 Costa Adeje plans for your holiday

By | 3 April, 2024 | 0 comments

Guayarmina Princess adults-only resort

Did you know that Costa Adeje is one of Tenerife’s most popular tourist areas? And Spain’s! Our two hotels on the island – Princess Inspire Tenerife and the Guayarmina Princess – are located there, right on Fañabé beach.

This prime location in the south of Tenerife comes complete with a host of leisure, sports and nature activities. We reveal our five unmissable plans to guarantee you’ll enjoy every single minute of your trip.

Golf with a side of stunning views

Golf Costa Adeje and its privileged setting

The south of Tenerife is home to a tailor-made haven for golf fans. The 25-year-old club Golf Costa Adeje.has hosted prestigious international tournaments including the European Tour Tenerife Open in 2021 and the World Corporate Golf Challenge in 2023.

The course is set in magical grounds. Play golf and take in the spectacular views: the island of La Gomera to the south, and the Adeje mountains to the north. And no need to worry about the weather; the mild climate boasts an average temperature of 23 degrees, ideal for golf whatever time of year.

Discover Costa Adeje’s Aquatic Playground

Costa Adeje is also ideal for dolphin and whale watching. Set sail in southern Tenerife and you could come across its cetaceous residents – bottlenose dolphins and short-finned pilot whales – all year round. Excursions generally take around two hours, and fun comes guaranteed!

If you’re looking for a more high-end experience, you’ll find plenty of companies offering excursions on luxury yachts or catamarans for private groups. They tend to include food.

More of an adrenalin junkie? Costa Adeje has you covered too. Hop on a jet ski or hire a kayak or peddle boat. Or how about a high-octane banana boat ride, or some parasailing, fly-boarding or fly-birding?

Practical details:

You can book your trips and experiences online. Or, head to Puerto Colón marina where most of the enterprises offer these kinds of activities, all complying with health and safety regulations.

Enjoy the world’s best water park

Siam Park facilities, Costa Adeje

Yes, you read it right. Siam Park has been voted the best water park in the world by TripAdvisor for the ninth consecutive year, and it’s in Costa Adeje. Just a five-minute drive from our Princess hotels!

This Thailand-themed water park offers incredible attractions, with daredevil slides and one of the world’s biggest wave pools. And it’s open 365 days a year. You can enjoy VIP services like tropical huts or villas, all-inclusive tickets or packages tailored to families or couples.

Practical information:

  • Opening hours: from 10:00 to 18:00 (April to October). And from 10:00 to 17:00 (November to March).
  • Entry cost: for non-residents, it costs from €42 for adults and €30 for children (residents: €37 for adults and €26 for children).

This is a seriously popular park, so we recommend buying your tickets in advance. You can also book a space on the free Siam Park bus service. The closest stop to our Tenerife hotels is ‘Centro Comercial Fañabé Plaza’ (Fañabé Plaza Shopping Centre).

Head for the Hell’s Ravine

Adeje town leads you to the beautiful Barranco del Infierno route. But don’t panic: it takes its name from the precipitous geological formations rather than the difficulty of the paths.

The 6-kilometre route is suitable for walkers of all levels. Plus, the views of the southern Tenerife landscape from the natural terraces make the walk more than worthwhile.

It’s a Protected Natural Area and part of the Barranco del Infierno Special Nature Reserve, encompassing other ravines and rocks. And it’s guaranteed to get archaeology lovers’ pulses racing. Various elements and objects dating back more than 1,000 years have been found there, as well as caves and engravings.

Access to the park is limited to 20 people every half hour to protect the local flora and fauna. This means you really need to book in advance.

Practical information:

  • Tickets: you can buy your ticket on the official website a few days in advance.
  • Safety: you’re required to wear a helmet throughout the route.

Immerse Yourself in a World of Culture

There are endless cultural offerings in the area. Here are some of the best activities for culture vultures in Costa Adeje:

Music lover?

Don’t miss the best musical events in the Costa Adeje zone. Some of the year’s most prominent fixtures are:

Not to mention the concerts. Huge international stars like Sting have performed in Adeje. Check before you go, and you might just get a chance to see one of your favourite singers live.

Now for theatre and musical lovers

The Adeje Auditorium has a wide-ranging offering including top-level shows. Plus, various events are held annually at the Magma Arte & Congresos centre in Costa Adeje.

Get a taste of the local culture

  • Easter in Adeje: This is one of the most important holidays in Tenerife. The Passion of Adeje is a famous open-air theatre performance featuring the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday.
  • Popular fiestas: The ‘verbenas’ and ‘romeras’ are very famous on the Canary Islands. These fiestas honour saints and virgins, and residents gather in neighbourhood squares to celebrate – with music and food of course. Look up all the fiestas in the municipality here. The one in Adeje, held in October, is the most famous.
  • New Year’s Eve bell ringing: December 31st is one of the most important days of the year for Spanish people. Join in the local customs and eat 12 grapes at midnight with your family and friends. A big party is organised every year in Adeje, generally at the Plaza de España, to usher in the new year.

Now you’ve read all about it, you’re ready to live it, right? Come and discover everything Costa Adeje has to offer.
