Did you know that Costa Adeje is one of Tenerife’s most popular tourist areas? And Spain’s! Our two hotels on the island – Princess Inspire Tenerife and the Guayarmina Princess – are located there, right on Fañabé beach.

This prime location in the south of Tenerife comes complete with a host of leisure, sports and nature activities. We reveal our five unmissable plans to guarantee you’ll enjoy every single minute of your trip.

Golf with a side of stunning views

Golf Costa Adeje and its privileged setting

The south of Tenerife is home to a tailor-made haven for golf fans. The 25-year-old club Golf Costa Adeje.has hosted prestigious international tournaments including the European Tour Tenerife Open in 2021 and the World Corporate Golf Challenge in 2023.

The course is set in magical grounds. Play golf and take in the spectacular views: the island of La Gomera to the south, and the Adeje mountains to the north. And no need to worry about the weather; the mild climate boasts an average temperature of 23 degrees, ideal for golf whatever time of year.

Costa Adeje is also ideal for dolphin and whale watching. Set sail in southern Tenerife and you could come across its cetaceous residents – bottlenose dolphins and short-finned pilot whales – all year round. Excursions generally take around two hours, and fun comes guaranteed!

If you’re looking for a more high-end experience, you’ll find plenty of companies offering excursions on luxury yachts or catamarans for private groups. They tend to include food.

More of an adrenalin junkie? Costa Adeje has you covered too. Hop on a jet ski or hire a kayak or peddle boat. Or how about a high-octane banana boat ride, or some parasailing, fly-boarding or fly-birding?

Practical details:

You can book your trips and experiences online. Or, head to Puerto Colón marina where most of the enterprises offer these kinds of activities, all complying with health and safety regulations.

Adeje town leads you to the beautiful Barranco del Infierno route. But don’t panic: it takes its name from the precipitous geological formations rather than the difficulty of the paths.

The 6-kilometre route is suitable for walkers of all levels. Plus, the views of the southern Tenerife landscape from the natural terraces make the walk more than worthwhile.

It’s a Protected Natural Area and part of the Barranco del Infierno Special Nature Reserve, encompassing other ravines and rocks. And it’s guaranteed to get archaeology lovers’ pulses racing. Various elements and objects dating back more than 1,000 years have been found there, as well as caves and engravings.

Access to the park is limited to 20 people every half hour to protect the local flora and fauna. This means you really need to book in advance.

Practical information:

  • Tickets: you can buy your ticket on the official website a few days in advance.
  • Safety: you’re required to wear a helmet throughout the route.
