Negresco Rooftop Menu

This new menu, illustrated by Sole Verduga, perfectly captures the space’s essence and its desire to entertain those visiting Barcelona to enjoy the summer, or indeed any season.

Negresco Princess welcomes a new concept, a new menu and a new program that will delight visitors. Enjoy the new concept of this exclusive seventh-floor terrace, a 100% urban space with spectacular views of the Barcelona skyline, ideal for enjoying the sunset while savouring the new menu. In the words of chef Jon García “it is designed to meet the demands of our customers from multiple origins, the common denominator being the use of a seasonal product and the best quality we can get as a bridge linking the gastronomy of my Central American origins with all the good things that the Mediterranean has to offer”.

The new menu therefore includes traditional starters such as Iberian ham, patatas bravas and croquettes as well as less conventional options such as totopos, tequeños or crispy prawns with coriander mayonnaise and lime. Main courses include salads and cold dishes, perfect for this time of year, as well as a selection of hamburgers and sandwiches for those feeling extra peckish. A 100% vegan hamburger has been included in the menu, as well as various vegetarian options. Negresco Rooftop has taken all palates into account when planning desserts, therefore offering cakes, ice cream and fresh fruit.

Since its inauguration, Hotel Negresco Princess has been closely linked to Barcelona’s cultural movement, hosting inspiring leisure events such as live music, exhibitions, lectures and screenings. “We believe in culture and its power to unite people, which is why we have once again trusted Elisava, a city school where diverse yet innovative and talented disciplines and styles come together,” says Jairo Mayolas, Manager of Negresco Princess.

In addition, this year Negresco Princess has gone one step further and has offered its impressive stained-glass windows of the façade to the students of the Faculty of Design and Engineering of Barcelona Elisava. Alongside the renowned artist El Dios de los Tres, supervisor of the master’s course in Illustration and Comic, they created a large mural which is so colourful that it can be seen from any point in the Roger de Lluria and Caspe streets’ central intersection. As a result of this close collaboration, this new menu was elaborated with a renewed image, illustrated by Sole Verduga. The Ecuadorian-born artist has created three illustrations that capture everyday scenes in Barcelona, which you can see anywhere in the city at cocktail hour: a bicycle, palm trees, a dog, soap bubbles, bravas or a glass of vermouth with La Sagrada Familia in the background. “I have always imagined my illustrations inhabiting human spaces, especially those involving enjoyment. I am very excited to see them now in the Negresco Rooftop menu, knowing how many people gather there to enjoy summer afternoons, ” says Verduga.
