Princess Hotels Riviera Maya renews their TraveLife Gold Certification

By | 8 November, 2023 | 0 comments

We are pleased to inform you that our Princess hotels in Riviera Maya have renewed their TraveLife Gold certification!

TraveLife Gold certification constitutes recognition of the efforts of our entire team to promoting sustainable tourism, and is achieved by implementing actions encompassed in our Princess & You 360 programme.

What is TraveLife Gold certification?

TraveLife Gold Certification

TraveLife was established by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) in 2007 as a sustainability framework designed to promote responsible tourism practices.

The purpose of TraveLife is to encourage sustainable tourism that respects both the environment and the local culture of the region. The certification process is unique in that it works with businesses of all sizes, from large tour operators to small independent companies.

The certification offers two approaches to sustainability, one designed for travel agencies and tour operators, and the other specifically for accommodation establishments. Both frameworks are complementary, however, as they are based on the same core values and principles of sustainability.

What steps has Princess Hotels taken to receive the TraveLife Gold Certification?

Steps TraveLife Gold Riviera Maya

First Phase: The partnership between Princess Hotels and TraveLife reflects our commitment to both sustainability and the implementation of practices and projects that are in line with the criteria established by TraveLife.

Second Phase: This phase is known as “Partners”, in which Princess Hotels prepares a Sustainability Report that records all the actions undertaken in an effort to comply with its agreements.

Third Phase: In the final stage of its commitment to TraveLife, Princess Hotels submitted to a Sustainability Audit in October 2023 in an effort to assess its compliance with TraveLife sustainability standards. As a result of this audit, the TraveLife Certificate was renewed.
