At Princess Hotels Riviera Maya, we are committed to carrying out initiatives that benefit local communities.

We promote actions that we then integrate into our Princess & You 360° Corporate Social Responsibility programme, where we carry out practices that have a positive impact on the world around us.

Through the action we are going to tell you about today, we have been able to help improve both the environment and our society. Read on to find out more.

Partnership building and project integration are extremely important to achieve our goals.

That’s why we joined the Soap recycling – Soap for Hope programme of one of our partners, Diversey, which was launched on a global level to help save lives.

What is Soap for Hope?

Collect, recycle and donate

More than 7 million children die every year from diseases that could be prevented through simple hand washing. This initiative aims to change this reality completely.

To this end, we will collect the bars of soap left by our guests at the end of their stay and recycle them. The programme focuses on saving lives by providing soap to those communities that most need it and currently lack it.

Through “Soap for Hope”, we promote healthcare and handwashing as an everyday practice, minimise soap waste and improve the livelihoods of the local community.

These bars of soap will be collected by our cleaning service at the end of our guests’ stay at the hotel and through a process of cleaning and disinfection will be transformed into brand new bars of soap, which we will then donate to the local communities that need them the most as well as to our allied foundations, such as “Contando con un amigo“, “Microtia” and “Mi amigo de la calle”, to name a few.

Help us to make the world a better place!

We invite all our guests to leave the bar of soap provided as an amenity in the bathroom at the end of their stay (even if they haven’t used it up) and to not throw it in the waste bins.

That way the cleaning service will be able to collect, recycle and donate them. Even bars of soap not provided by the hotel can be left behind as a donation to this process.
